While it has been a colder than usual beginning to 2010, the real estate market has continued to stabilize. The 30-A area continues to gain popularity and recognition. The recent 30-A Songwriter’s Festival held in mid January was a huge success and a boon to our economy in a time of year that is typically very quiet for area businesses.
I was especially pleased to see this great travel report to be published in Boston this weekend and my smiling friend and art guru Eileen West spreading the word!

Seaside Yard Sale and Fall Events

There are so many exciting events in the upcoming months it’s will take many posts to keep up. But I LOVE the fall season in South Walton and I’m willing to start the list! The ever popular Seaside Yard Sale is this Saturday, October 3rd beginning at 8 am. I’ve found so many treasures at this sale over the years including my favorite 60’s retro outdoor recliner. There will be over 100 vendors. It’s also a great opportunity for early holiday shopping!

Spring is arriving to every corner of South Walton and this past weekend provided the perfect opportunity to check out area gardens and include a few fun cultural events.
New Zealand Tea Tree in WaterColor
Watercolor’s Art in the Park had a beautiful day to showcase area artists. I visited with several of my local friends and artists before checking out my favorite butterfly garden. Area garden designer Snookie Parrish introduced me to the New Zealand tea tree several years ago. The tree provides wonderful cuttings for dried arrangements that last for months. This one is looking quite spectacular in the Watercolor garden.
My next stop on Sunday was to check out the azaleas in full bloom at Eden Gardens State Park.

The park was the perfect spot for strolling through the last blooms of the camellia gardens. The mature azaleas in all of their glory among the ancient oaks of Eden are just one more amazing dimension of the beauty of South Walton.
South Walton continues to attract newcomers recognizing its natural beauty and choices in lifestyle. Our local real estate sales are on the rise this spring with a total of 41 pending residential sales along Scenic 30-A and 14 pending residential land sales. It’s an exciting time to find your place in paradise!
